佛光山長老口述史 見證星雲大師70載弘法足跡
星雲大師70載弘法足跡 承載著星雲大師一生弘法度眾的全新系列叢書《佛光山口述歷史》,即將於11月20日起陸續出版。 為緬懷佛光山開山星雲大師開創佛光教團歷史,同時為人間佛教的行者撰寫記錄,保留人間佛教發展重要的口述史料,佛光山人間佛教研究院2023年推出《佛光山口述歷史》,在人間佛教研究院院長妙凡法師帶領下,採訪團隊先以佛光山開山長老為主要採訪對象,經邀請獲得慈惠法師、慈容法師、心定和尚、蕭碧霞師姑等四位長老的同意,開啟為期2-3年口述歷史計畫。同時,也得到慈莊法師慈悲應允,並榮幸邀請到依空法師一同參與此計畫,採訪撰寫慈莊法師。 除了採訪長老,採訪團隊亦走訪長老的家鄉、學佛的發源地宜蘭,尋訪大.....
The Harmonious Development Between Humanistic and Traditional Buddhism and its Issues
As is widely known, Humanistic Buddhism is a new movement of teaching, understanding, and practicing modern Han Chinese Buddhism. It has developed rapidly and gained broad support in Mainland China and Taiwan. It has been very successful in Taiwan and has far-reaching influence wherever Han Chinese Buddhism spread. This is especially true of Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s philosophy and practice of it. Such achievements have reinvigorated Buddhism and signal the arrival of a new era in the development of Buddhism.
Humanistic Buddhism: Responding to Contemporary Developments
There are contemporary approaches to the use of Buddhist practices that can be said to be revolutionary in terms of how we study and evaluate the tradition. Since these practices are directed toward the public domain, they are one type of “Humanistic Buddhism.” A challenge for Buddhist groups is how to respond to these developments. A similar challenge exists for the academic study of Buddhism. How can we understand and deal with the contemporary world that has emerged?
