第四期人間佛教座談會期間，學者們談論最多的，是星雲大師剛剛出版的新著《人間佛教佛陀本懷》。再讀大師這部書，又有一些感想。關於佛教尤其是中國佛教今後發展方向問題，我們更加有了清晰的輪廓，那就是這裡歸納為一個階段性的結論：那就是以原始佛教為基礎，以大乘佛教為指導，以中華文化為歸宿，以人間佛教為導向。
