A Letter to Dharma Protectors and Friends in 2018
Spring flowers, autumn moon, winter goes, and spring arrives once again. As the seasons follow their order of time, we welcome 2018. Venerable Master Hsing Yun gives his blessings and encouragement to all through his spring couplet, “A Family of Loyalty and Honor.” Loyalty and honor are most important in life. We must remain loyal and righteous towards people. We must stay loyal in our relationships, responsibilities, friendships, and towards our leaders. We must show sensibility towards human relationships, remain righteous towards the world, have benevolence for society, and sense our connection with the whole universe. It is essential to understand, be grateful for, realize, and keep as family legacy the spirits of loyalty and honor.
2018神明聯誼會學術會議
佛光山佛陀紀念館 2018神明聯誼會學術會議 活動簡介: 2017年12月25日來自世界各地儒、釋、道及天主教、伊斯蘭教、基督教的代表數萬人及二千多尊的神明，共同參與了佛陀紀念館舉辦的「神明聯誼會」；其中，英國東倫敦清真寺、巴西國家聖母院、法國猶太教代表、武當山道教協會，還有香港的黃大仙廟，突破宗教的藩籬前來參會。大家共同見證了「世界神明聯誼會」，以宗教融合，宗教對話，推進和平、和諧，共生共榮的世界宗教交流的實況。緣此, 首屆「2018年神明聯誼會學術會議」邀請各國和台灣學者專家深入探討「神.....

“In every home a new day dawns; old peach wood charms are replaced anew.” 2019 is the Year of the Pig. Of the twelve zodiac signs, the pig symbolizes a way to round up the year and start a new beginning of life. For this year’s One-Stroke Calligraphy spring couplet, Venerable Master writes “Always Well-rounded and Auspicious,” wishing everyone perfect ease in body and mind. Under the care of his Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital medical team, Venerable Master has recovered well from his craniotomy two years ago. At 92 years old, Venerable Master says, “I am not in pain, nor am I sick. I am only slightly inconvenienced.” Concerned about Cross-Strait peace and the development of Humanistic Buddhism, Venerable Master says, “I need to work harder.” As it is rare to encounter the Buddha’s teachings and have such a great Dharma teacher, both monastic and lay disciples should strive vigorously to follow in Venerable Master’s footsteps of propagating Humanistic Buddhism.

In the Year of the Rat, I, Hsin Bau, on behalf of the Fo Guang Shan Board of Directors, Abbots, Abbesses, Superintendents, and sangha communities of Fo Guang Shan temples worldwide, wish for everyone to do good things, speak good words, and think good thoughts. With the Three Acts of Goodness, every journey in this world is a path to happiness. In January last year, Fo Guang Shan held the International Ten-Thousand Buddha Triple Platform Full Ordination Ceremony with preceptees from twenty-one countries and regions worldwide. The Sila Upadhyaya, Venerable Master Hsing Yun, encouraged everyone with this recollection, “Throughout my entire life, I have only focused on doing one thing, that is, to play the role of a monastic well.”

“A man’s lifetime diligence brings a lush land of green; an ox’s ever-trodding hooves turn over million acres of gold.” In the Year of Ox, I, Hsin Bau, on behalf of the Fo Guang Shan Board of Directors and worldwide Fo Guang Shan Sangha, wish for everyone to “Cultivate a Heart that Blooms in All Seasons.” May we practice diligently for the blooming of wisdom all year round.

2022年度人間佛教青年學者論壇開幕
社會各界人士共同參加了此次開幕。開幕式由西北大學謝志斌副教授擔任司儀。 首先，由2022年度人間佛教研究獎學金總計畫主持李利安教授進行宗旨介紹。李教授對活動的宗旨和前期過程進行了闡述。講道，軸心時代，釋迦牟尼專注於人類的生命痛苦，開闢了以正見正信為主導的治心之路，尋求人類的幸福。西元後，佛教傳入中國並形成延續至近代的三教並立的文化結構。現在，星雲大師強調回歸佛陀本懷，關注人間，關注生命，極具時代意義。在後疫情時代，人類急切地需要重新思考生命的本質和存在，從佛教中汲取智慧，思考並尋求現實生命的人間佛教應對措施，尤為重要。作為正在發生的歷史文化現象，人間佛教具有很強的學術研究潛力。本次論壇將有諸多.....
