A Study on Gender Equality in Humanistic Buddhism
Since Humanistic Buddhism was first proposed by Master Taixu, the issue of gender equality has gradually kindled widespread discussion in the field of Buddhism. During the Republican Era, Master Taixu and the female Buddhists of the Pure Bodhi Vihara have actively expressed their views on gender equality. Eventually, they reached a consensus of respecting a woman’s character, protecting her rights, and advocating equal status between men and women.

During the Republican Era, Master Taixu and the female Buddhists of the Pure Bodhi Vihara have actively expressed their views on gender equality. Eventually, they reached a consensus of respecting a woman’s character, protecting her rights, and advocating equal status between men and women. After 1949, under the impetus of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, Venerable Yin Shun, Venerable Sheng Yen, Venerable Chaohwei, thoughts on gender equality in Taiwan have made great strides. After 1980, the rejuvenation of Humanistic Buddhism in Mainland China in turn developed thoughts on gender equality. As a result, the overall status of female Buddhists in Mainland China has remarkably improved.
一種個性化的書寫方式與解釋模式――讀程恭讓教授新著 《星雲大師人間佛教思想研究》
作為歷時四年之久的嘔心瀝血之作，程恭讓教授的《星雲大師人間佛教思想研究》(2015，台灣佛光文化事業有限公司) 一書終於呈現在讀者的面前。這部多達50 萬字之巨的浩浩鴻文雖然我還未來得及細細品讀，但在案頭翻閱之間就已感受到作者的精心架構與深思獨創之處――無論從謀篇布局還是從把握問題的視角來看，作者都不滿足於一般傳統的書寫方式與解讀模式。換句話說，在這本著作中，作者不僅意在客觀呈現星雲大師人間佛教思想，而更是著意通過自身的佛學理論視野與獨到觀察視角，對星雲大師人間佛教思想進行一次全新的個性化解讀。因此，這是一本當代佛教思想者關於當代佛教大師的思想評傳與深入研究，其中所涉及的問題與思考可能遠遠超出了思想評傳的本身，而具有佛教學術史視野下的理論價值以及有助推動人間佛教實踐深入展開的參考價值。

最近讀完程恭讓教授的新著《佛典漢譯、理解與詮釋研究―以善巧方便一系概念為中心》，收穫頗為豐碩。程恭讓教授是當代著名佛教學者，他的歐陽竟無佛學研究和星雲大師人間佛教思想研究，極大地推進了中國近現代佛教思想研究，也極大地推進了「星雲模式」的人間佛教運動的現實進展。

「三好、四給」：佛教神聖與人間需要—星雲大師人間佛教神聖思想研究
星雲模式的人間佛教具有宏大神聖性和極具深意的人間性、教育性以及文化性，尤其是星雲大師「三好、四給」的佛教思想，真正將「佛說的」佛法教義回歸到「人要的」世間，圓滿人生的需要。本文基於佛教經典有關「神聖」的論述，整合佛說「三好」與人要的「四給」作為人間佛教神聖性建設的基本研究路徑，在滿足人間生活各種需要的同時呈現人間佛教的神聖性，進而梳理星雲模式人間佛教思想如何聯通個人與社會、社會與佛教、佛教與人間、人間與神聖等關聯，以「四給」的神聖體現，融合「三好」之神聖實踐，最終呈現人間佛教神聖信仰與社會發展相融合的路徑，建立神聖性與人間性的橋梁。
