佛光山1967 年開山時，我就設立了人間佛教弘法四大宗旨：以文化弘揚佛法，以教育培養人才，以慈善福利社會，以共修淨化人心。現在佛光山經過了第一個50 年建設，在硬體上大致的建構已經是三寶俱全的系統，因此在第二個50年，仍然以文化、教育為續佛慧命的重心，由宗務委員會領導，從原來的五院十會調整為 三寶山，繼續推動弘揚人間佛教。
