愧怍

縱人負我德，亦當作我負人德想；
覺自己對一切人皆有愧怍，歉憾
無已，則暴戾之氣，便無由生矣。

With Humility

Though others do not return the good I do,
I take it as myself not returning the good of others.
I feel shame for not doing enough for all people,
Such that there is nothing to regret.
So that the cruel and despotic
Have no means to arise.
