難忍能忍
佛光星雲 ( 1927~ )

忍,是中國文化的美德;
忍,也是佛教認為最大的修行。
無邊的罪過,在於一個瞋字;
無量的功德,在於一個忍字。

──選自《迷悟之間》

Venerable Master Hsing Yun (1927 - , Fo Guang Shan)
English translation: Zhi Yue, Stephanie Mei Gaw, and Siew Hsiang Chow

Patience is a virtue known in Chinese culture;
Patience is also regarded in Buddhism
    as the greatest cultivation.
Endless transgressions come from hatred.
Immeasurable merits come from patience.
