慈悲與淨愛
佛光星雲 ( 1927~ )

慈悲就是情愛的昇華，佛陀的弘法利生、示教利
喜，就是愛；觀世音菩薩的大慈大悲、救苦救難，
就是愛。愛就是為了你好；愛你就要成全你，要尊
重你，要給你自由，要給你方便。愛是美的，愛是
善的，愛是真的，愛也是淨的；佛教本質上即是慈
悲與淨愛。

Compassion and Pure Love
Venerable Master Hsing Yun (1927 - , Fo Guang Shan)

Compassion is love elevated. The Buddha's
propagation of the Dharma to help others is love;
his teachings and instructions for happiness
are all love. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's great
compassion, loving kindness, and rescuing people
from hardships and difficulty, are all love. Love
helps us, gives us respect, freedom, and makes
life easier. Love is beauty, goodness, and truth;
love is pure. The essence of Buddhism is loving-
kindness, compassion, and pure love.
