一心清淨
明 袁了凡 ( 1533~1606 )

為善而心不著善，
則隨所成就，皆得圓滿。
心著於善，雖終身勤勵。
止於半善而已。
譬如以財濟人，
內不見己，外不見人，
中不見所施之物，
是謂三輪體空，是謂一心清淨；
則斗粟可以種無涯之福，
一文可以消千劫之罪。
倘此心未忘，雖黃金萬鎰，
福不滿也。

A Pure Mind
Yuan Liaofan (1533 - 1606, Ming Dynasty) English translation: Zhi Yue Those who do wholesome deeds, and are detached from what
they have done, will find their actions successful and fulfilled.

Those who are attached to their wholesome deeds, their actions,
though diligent, can only be considered half-wholesome.

For instance, when giving charity to others, do so with
a pure mind: do not dwell on the self who is giving, the
other who has received, nor the object that has been given.
This is called the non-substantiality of the three aspects of giving.

In this way, giving a pound of grain can bring infinite
merit, and a donation of a single cent can remove the
transgressions of a thousand kalpas. But for an attached
mind, even two hundred thousand pieces of gold will not
bring prosperity.
