Description:
Plum Glory
Hanshan Deqing (1546 - 1623, Ming Dynasty)
English translation: Cindy Choi
Late autumn in the forest,
All trees have withered.
Only plum trees stand braving the cold,
Whose fragrance wafts through drifting snow.
Spring arrives with the scenery of snow,
At night the fragrance of winter more pure.
A serene bird song,
Swiftly awakens my soul from the dream.
── from Hanshan Laoren Mengyou Ji (Collection of Old Man Hanshan’s Dream Travels)
