我本行腳僧，忽逢行腳客。
借問行腳事，相視無言說。
匡廬一片雲，峨嵋千尺雪。
箇是行腳心，去來水中月。
因思母子情，念念不相隔。
今歸承歡顏，恰似未曾別。
奉旨不奉甘，問冷不問熱。
劈破娘生面，乃見不生滅。
方是行腳人，到家之時節。

As a wandering monk,
I suddenly meet a traveler.
Asking about the journeys by foot,
We look at each other, speechless.
A piece of cloud floating on Mount Lu,
A thousand feet of snow on Mount Emei.
The mind of one who wanders,
Coming and going like the moon in the water.
Thinking of the bond between mother and son,
In every thought we were never apart.
Upon my return to please her heart,
It seemed never had I been away.
Offering food, but not of delicacy.
Concerned about the cold, but not the heat.
Let the intrinsic nature be revealed,
Then see the non-arising and non-ceasing truth.
For a wandering mind,
To reach home now is it time.
