Three Acts of Virtues
Translated into Chinese by Kalayasas (383 - 442, Liu-Song Dynasty)
English translation: Alex Wong

First, practice through being filial to one’s parents,
revering and serving one’s teachers, cultivating kindness,
refraining from killing, and performing the ten wholesome actions.

Second, make vows such as taking refuge in the Triple
Gem, upholding the precepts completely, refraining from
violating the rules of conduct, and being pure in body and mind.

Third, have faith by giving rise to the aspiration for
enlightenment, believing in cause and effect, reading
studying the Mahayana, and practicing diligently.

── from Foshuo Wuliangshou Jing (Contemplation of the Buddha of Infinite Life Sutra)
