For Yaoshan Eminent Monk Weiyan
Li Ao (774 - 836, Tang Dynasty)
English translation: Miao Guang
One’s body shaped alike a crane through training,
Two coffers of scriptures, under a thousand pine trees lay.
As you inquire into the Way, not much do I have to say,
Clouds in the blue sky and water in the jar.
── from Jingde Chuandeng Lu (Records of the Transmission of the Lamp)
