善似青松惡似花，看看眼前不如它；
有朝一日遭霜打，只見青松不見花。

English translation: Miao Guang

Good is like the pine, and evil the flower,
At one glance the latter may seem lesser;
Until the day when both are slashed by frost,
All that is left is not the flower, but the pine.
