Emptiness
Hanshan Deqing (1546 - 1623, Ming Dynasty)
English translation: Cindy Choi
Mount Sumeru penetrates the great vacuity,
The Earth emerges from the fragrant ocean.
The Six Faculties conceal one’s intrinsic nature,
The Four Elements pervade the Dharma realm.
When the inferno at the end of the age grows,
These will be eliminated, and those not.
Why await till all has burnt away,
To realize no hindrance exists?
── from Hanshan Laoren Mengyou Ji (Collection of Old Man Hanshan's Dream Travels)
