三國‧諸葛亮（181~234）

夫君子之行，靜以修身，儉以養德；
非淡泊無以明志，非寧靜無以致遠。
夫學須靜也，才須學也；
非學無以廣才，非志無以成學。
怠慢則不能勵精，險躁則不能治性。
年與時馳，意與歲去，
遂成枯落，多不接世。
悲守窮廬，將復何及！

To act as a noble man, cultivate yourself with
serenity and foster your virtue by practicing frugality.

Without detachment, your principles cannot
be clarified, and without serenity, you
cannot broaden your perspective.

Before learning, you must first gain serenity;
without learning, you cannot enhance your abilities.

Without serenity, learning is impossible.

Idleness and arrogance cannot refine your character,
and impatience cannot bring rationality.

Just as the years swiftly pass, your resolve wanes
with age and turns dry and withered.

What is the point of sighing with regret and
wishing to turn back time?
