我 願
佛光星雲 ( 1927~ )

我願作一根蠟燭，燃燒自己，照亮別人。
我願作一支畫筆，彩繪世間，增添美麗。
我願作一盞路燈，照破黑暗，指引光明。
我願作一棵大樹，枝繁葉茂，庇蔭路人。
我願作一本書籍，展現真理，給人智慧。
我願作一方大地，普載眾生，生長萬物。

I vow to be a candle,
Burning up myself, to shine upon others.
I vow to be a paintbrush,
Painting humanity with color, bringing forth beauty.
I vow to be a street lamp,
Breaking through the darkness, lighting the way.
I vow to be a great tree,
Flourishing with leaves, shading passersby.
I vow to be a book,
Manifesting the truth, giving others wisdom.
I vow to be the great earth,
Supporting living beings, giving life to all things.
