韋應物詩選 ─ 寄全椒山中道士
唐 韋應物 ( 737~792 )

今朝郡齋冷,忽念山中客;
澗底束荊薪,歸來煮白石。
欲持一瓢酒,遠慰風雨夕;
落葉滿空山,何處尋行跡?

──選自《全唐詩》

Selected Works by Wei Yingwu - For the Mountain Hermit of Quanjiao
Wei Yingwu (737 - 792, Tang Dynasty)
English translation: Miao Guang and Zhi Yue

Today, it is cold inside this quiet prefecture,
Sudden thoughts of the mountain hermit arise.
Bundling up thorn twigs at the end of the ravine,
To return home and boil the white rocks.

I long to carry a gourd filled with wine,
As comfort for that far windy and rainy night.
Yet this deserted mountain is full of fallen leaves,
Where might I find traces of you?
