All in a Thought
Venerable Master Hsing Yun (1927 - , Fo Guang Shan)
English translation: Zhi Yue and Siew-Hsiang Chow

There are many people who are used to being calculative and
comparative in life. Their minds are full of suspicion and hatred.
Bound by greed, anger, and ignorance, or afflictions and worries,
they live as if they were in hell.

If we can be broad-minded and tolerant of everything, as well
as drive our minds to the right path at every moment, then it
would be as if we are living in heaven.

Whether we reach buddhahood, become enlightened, or are
trapped in Samsara are all determined by none other than our
minds. The difference between a sage or an ordinary being is all
in a thought.
