慈母手中線，遊子身上衣，
臨行密密縫，意恐遲遲歸，
誰言寸草心，報得三春暉？

A Roamer's Chant

From the thread in a loving mother's hand,
To the clothes that the roamer wears;
Sewing and sewing, upon his leave,
Slow and slow his return, her fear.
Who is to say that the heart of an inch's grass
Can repay a whole spring’s sunrays?
