The Heart of Heaven, That Full Moon
Yanyin Hongyi (1880 - 1942)
English translation: Miao Guang
Acquaintances between superior men
are as bland as water.
Any pursuit with a mind attached to appearances
may seem within reach,
yet a thousand miles away.
When asked of me, “What place shall suit you?”
I remain speechless in the face of a boundless future──
On the flower branches, full of spring air,
In the heart of heaven, that full moon.
── from Hongyi Dashi Quanji (Complete Works of Master Hongyi)
