中歲頗好道，晚家南山陲；
興來每獨往，勝事空自知。
行到水窮處，坐看雲起時；
偶然值林叟，談笑無還期。

Wang Wei (699 - 759, Tang Dynasty)
English translation: Miao Guang

During mid-life, I was rather fond of the Way,
Growing old, I then lived beside the Mountain.
When in the mood, I would wander about alone,
Being the only one to know my delights.

Coming upon where the waters end,
I would sit and watch the clouds rise.
And occasionally,
    I met with that old man in the woods,
Chatting and laughing continuously,
    giving home time an endless delay.
