好心得好報
佛光星雲 ( 1927~ )

一花一木都有生命，
一山一水都有生機，
一人一事都有道理，
一舉一動都有因果。

能以平等觀看待一切眾生，
就是法界圓融；
能以因緣觀看待一切事物，
都是緣起緣滅。

忍一句，禍根從此無生處；
饒一著，切莫與人爭強弱；
耐一時，火坑變作白蓮池；
退一步，便是人間修行路。

因果不可昧：
善有善報，惡有惡報；不是不報，時辰未到；
真理不可欺：
真真假假，假假真真；真假之後，必有平衡。

種善因得善果，種惡因得惡果，人是自己的園丁；
存好心得好報，存歹心得歹報，心是自己的主人。

Good Things Happen to Those with a Good Heart

Every tree and flower has a purpose.
Every mountain and stream has a place.
Every occasion has a reason.
Every cause has an effect.

Treat all beings in the spirit of equality.
See everything through the principle of dependent origination.

Hold back negative words;
    there will be no ground in which disaster can grow.
Forgive an attack;
    never fight others for power.
Endure for a moment;
    a fiery inferno will turn into a cool lotus pond.
Take a step back;
    that is the way of self-cultivation.*

We cannot oppose the law of causality;
    good and evil will have their karmic retribution
    when their time comes.
We cannot oppose the truth;
    true and false, real and fake
    will be redressed in time.

Good or bad fruit comes from
    good or bad causes and conditions;
    you are your own gardener.
Good or bad karmic justice comes from
    good or ill will;
    you are the master of your will.
