初於聞中入流亡所頌
明 紫柏真可 ( 1543~1603 )

百戰將軍未肯降,太虛空裡割疆場;
凍雷出地醒殘夢,別有梅花一段香。

An Ode to Early News and Entering Exile
Zibo Zhenke (1543 - 1603, Ming Dynasty)
English translation: You Zai and Zhi Yue

Generals of a hundred battles, unwilling to surrender,
In the vast emptiness, they are severed from the battlefield.

Summer thunderstorms strike the ground,
    awaking all and destroying dreams,
Grasp not at the fragrance of the plum blossoms.

── from Zibo Zunzhe Quanji (Complete Works by Master Zibo)
