《陶庵夢憶》選 ─ 西湖夢尋

月光倒囊入水，江濤吞吐，露氣吸之，噀天為白。
余大驚喜。移舟過金山寺，已二鼓矣。經龍王堂，
入大殿，皆漆靜。林下漏月光，疏疏如殘雪。

Selections from Dreams of Tao an - Dream Seeking at West Lake
Zhang Dai (1597 - 1679, Ming Dynasty)
English translation: Miao Guang

The moonlight poured over the river, swallowed by the
waves, absorbed into the air by the surge of the water,
spraying the sky white. What an utter surprise! By the
time I sailed across over to Jinshan Temple, it was already
well into the second watch of the night. Passing by the
Dragon King Hall and into the Main Shrine, all were still
and silent. Leaking through the bamboo forest was the
moonlight that was snowy white.
